About this Course
What You Will Learn
Perfect for dancers with prior experience, this course builds on foundational skills and introduces intricate footwork, turns, and combinations. Classes include musical interpretation, partner dynamics, technique refinement, and dedicated review sessions. With small class sizes, our instructors provide personalized feedback, dancing with and guiding each participant.
- Advanced Fundamentals: Expand your foundation with complex footwork, turns, and combinations.
- Musical Interpretation: Improve rhythm and expression through deeper musicality.
- Partner Dynamics: Refine leading, following, and styling techniques for smooth social dancing.
- Focused Growth: Learn in a supportive environment with personalized feedback and review sessions.
Prerequisites
Leads and follows should be able to comfortably execute the following moves in their respective roles prior to enrolling in the Intermediate Salsa Course. These patterns should feel natural in a social dancing setting, and dancers should be able to recall them fluently:
- Basic Step (On1 or On2, depending on course format)
- Right Turn
- Left Turn
- Cross Body Lead
- Cross Body Inside Turn
- Cross Body Outside Turn
- Shoulder Check
- Simple Copa
- Open Break in Line
- Open Break at an Angle
- Cuddle / Wrap Patterns
- Basic Partner Connection and Timing (keeping consistent rhythm and frame)
If these moves are new to you, or if you don’t yet feel fully comfortable executing them on the dance floor, our Beginner Zero to Hero Salsa Courses on Mondays or Wednesdays are the perfect place to strengthen your foundation before moving into the intermediate level.
